Arrival at the Tents of Gandhisagar Forest Retreat

Rock Art Tour and a Mesmerising Sunset

Visit the Chaturbhujnath Nala in the Chambal Valley. It is the biggest rock art gallery in the world, showcasing magnificent and richly painted rock art representing the pre and early pastoral cultural stage which dates back to 10,000 BCE.

Witness the panoramic sunset view above the majestic Chambal River from a cliff at Gandhisagar.

Jungle Safari Around Gandhisagar Wildlife Sanctuary

The Gandhisagar Wildlife Sanctuary is open for tourists throughout the year, featuring a diverse terrain of wooded hills, including dry, mixed, and deciduous forests, as well as expansive grasslands around the Gandhisagar Dam. This provides ample opportunities to observe a wide variety of wildlife in their natural habitat.

The sanctuary has diverse tree species like Khair, Salai, Kardhai, and Tendu. It is home to herbivores such as Chinkara, Nilgai, and spotted deer, as well as carnivores like Indian leopards, striped hyenas, and jackals. The reservoir hosts crocodiles, fish, otters, and turtles while being an Important Bird and Biodiversity Area (IBA) with a thriving bird population.
The guests are advised to have breakfast, keep their water bottles, wear comfortable and breathable clothing and carry sunglasses/hat/binoculars/camera with them.
(We will be providing a few binoculars as well, which will be collected by us at the end of the Jungle Safari).

Rural Experiential Village Tour and Sunset at Chambal

The rural experiential village, Kanwla, will transport you back to the 11th century. Visit the Baraha Temple and take a stroll through the village, marvelling at the vibrant rustic windows and doors that adorn its charming pathways, offering glimpses into a bygone era.
Witness the golden sunset at the picturesque Mini Goa at the banks of the Chambal River.
